Foundation Paper Piecing



Fabric:

You will need 3 fabrics.  All fabrics should be washed and pressed before cutting.  Please cut fabrics before class!

All pieces will be cut 4” x 7”

               8 for background

               8 for color A

               8 for color B

You may be able to use scraps from your beginning blocks on subsequent blocks, so save your scraps in class!  Bring extra fabric to class (just in case!).

Sewing machine in good working order – please know how to thread your machine and fill a bobbin.  Make sure everything works before class! 

Power cord, foot pedal, attachments, etc.

Size 70 microtex or sharp needle

Neutral thread, size 50 or 60 cotton, high quality

Open toe foot for your sewing machine (or regular foot – need to be able to see your stitches at the needle)

Long, thin glass head pins

Add-A-Quarter Ruler, 12” (6” will work OK, too)

3” x 6” heavy duty template plastic, or equivalent

45 mm rotary cutter with sharp blade

Small cutting mat

Fabric glue stick – washable type

Scissors

Seam Ripper (our best friend!)

Optional, but helpful:

               Small iron/ironing mat (you may need an extension cord)

               Colored pencils or pens to match your fabrics

Before signing up for class, please check your schedule and read our class policy carefully. To be fair to our teachers and other students we must remain firm on our registration and cancellation policies.

  • Classes, must be paid in full when you sign up for class. Cancellations must be made at least 7 days prior to class and you will be issued store credit.
  • Our guest teachers reserve the right to cancel 48 hours prior to any class if the participation level is below any stated minimum.
  • We will issue a full refund for any class we fully cancel. We will reschedule classes as quickly as possible, rescheduled classes are not subject to a full refund, if you cannot attend the new dates you will receive a store credit. 
  • Your registration in class implies your agreement to adhere to all the above-stated cancellation and refund policies. 
  • Your registration in class implies your agreement to adhere to our current mask policy. No refunds will be given if you choose not to attend class based on any expectation of a relaxed mask policy. 
  • In the event of inclement weather, classes could have a delayed start time or be rescheduled for another day. If we are experiencing snow and icy conditions please check social media including Facebook and Instagram. This will be the quickest way to receive updates as the stores might not be open if road conditions are too dangerous for staff to get to the store to call or email you.
