Supply List:
Sewing machine with foot pedal and power cord (if you wish to use decorative stitches, be sure your machine has the stitch you want to use)
¼” foot
Open toe foot or any foot where you can see your needle well, like an open toe or a foot with clear plastic
Appropriate foot for your decorative stitch
Sharp/microtex needle, sz 70 is good
Neutral thread (50 or 60 wt, good quality) that will blend with all your fabrics: grey, off white, tan, etc.
Thread for your decorative stitches – if using metallic, the best (in my opinion and experience) is King Star If you are a beginning quilter, you should probably use regular thread for your decorative stitches.
Add a Quarter Ruler – 6” or 12”
3” x 6” heavy duty template plastic or equivalent
Rotary cutter with sharp blade and a small cutting mat
Pins, long, thin glass head
Seam Ripper (on no, not that!)
Fabric Glue Stick, washable type
Ironing mat and small iron
Steam a Seam 2 (1/4” double sided fusible tape)
Fabrics: (approx., but should be plenty – see cutting instructions) – avoid directional fabrics
Light (white in the Christmas sample) – 1/3 yd.
Medium (light green in the Christmas sample) – 1/3 yd.
Dark (dark green in the Christmas sample) – ½ yd.
Before class please cut the following:
Light: Cut a 5” strip, selvidge to selvidge; subcut into 8 - 5” squares
Cut a 3” strip, “ “ “ ; subcut into 8 - 3” x 4” pieces
Cut 2 - 1 ¼” strip for the accent border
Med: Cut 1 – 9” square and cut in half diagonally
Cut 4 – 4” x 4” squares
Cut 8 – 4” x 1 ¾”
Dark: Cut 4 – 2 ½” strips for border and binding
Cut 4 – 4” x 4” squares
Cut 8 – 4” x 1 ¾”
You will also need 13 ½” x 38” pieces of backing fabric and batting.
Please bring lunch or snack to class. There is a fridge and microwave you are welcome to use. Drinks and food are allowed in the sewing area.
All students are required to have proficient knowledge of their sewing machine. We understand things happen, but you should be able to troubleshoot your machine and understand how everything works.
Before signing up for class, please check your schedule and read our class policy carefully. To be fair to our teachers and other students we must remain firm in our registration and cancellation policies.
Classes must be paid in full when you sign up for class. Cancellations must be made at least 7 days prior to class, and you will be issued store credit.
Our guest teachers reserve the right to cancel 48 hours prior to any class if the participation level is below any stated minimum.
We will issue a full refund for any class we fully cancel. We will reschedule classes as quickly as possible, rescheduled classes are not subject to a full refund, if you cannot attend the new dates you will receive store credit.
Your registration in class implies your agreement to adhere to all the above-stated cancellation and refund policies.

In the event of inclement weather, classes could have a delayed start time or be rescheduled for another day. If we are experiencing snow and icy conditions, please check social media including Facebook and Instagram. This will be the quickest way to receive updates as the stores might not be open if road conditions are too dangerous for staff to get to the store to call or email you.
